Ivor Novello Award-winning singer-songwriter Passenger returns with Runaway, released on Black Crow Records via Cooking Vinyl. The album showcases the grand, cinematic side of Passenger's songwriting, balancing soaring melodies and anthemic choruses with the heartfelt storytelling that has become his trademark.

Throughout his career, Passenger (Mike Rosenberg) has explored two distinct musical styles: the expansive, radio-friendly sound of albums such as Young as the Morning, Old as the Sea and the global hit Let Her Go, alongside the more intimate, introspective approach of records like Whispers II (2015) and The Boy Who Cried Wolf (2017). Runaway sees him once again embracing the larger, more expansive sound while retaining the emotional honesty that defines his work.

Recorded between the UK and Australia with longtime co-producer Chris Vallejo, the album draws heavily on Americana influences, particularly the early work of Ryan Adams. Richly textured with lap steel, mandolin and banjo—courtesy of guitarist Benjamin Edgar—and supported by bassist Rob Calder, drummer Peter Marin and keyboardist Jon Hansen, Runaway unfolds against a backdrop of imagined American landscapes, creating a warm, evocative collection of beautifully crafted songs.
