Rooted is the latest studio album from acclaimed singer, songwriter and guitar virtuoso Martin Simpson. Produced by Andy Bell and recorded in Sheffield and Oxfordshire, the album is available on CD, LP and digital formats, with deluxe editions including a bonus collection of instrumentals titled Seeded.

Reflecting on the album, Simpson explains that its songs explore themes of nature, travel, mental health, personal stories, loss, politics and history, all connected by the musical journey that began when he picked up his first guitar in 1965. The result is a deeply personal and richly textured collection that showcases both his exceptional musicianship and masterful storytelling.

Rooted features an outstanding lineup of guest musicians, including Nancy Kerr, Andy Cutting, Liz Hanks, John Smith, Ben Nicholls, Julie Matthews, Alan Barnes, Max Simpson, Amy Smith, Chris While and Tom A. Wright. Richard Hawley and Dom Flemons also make special appearances on the single Neo, contributing backing vocals and bones respectively. Alongside his distinctive vocals, Simpson demonstrates his remarkable versatility by performing on banjola, five-string banjo, six-string fretless banjo, electric bass, and both electric and resonator guitars, reaffirming his status as one of Britain's finest contemporary folk artists.
