Formed in Auburn, New York, in 1980, Manowar have become one of the most iconic and uncompromising bands in heavy metal history. Renowned for their epic songs inspired by fantasy, mythology and heroism, the band have built a fiercely loyal global following through their thunderous sound, larger-than-life performances and unwavering dedication to traditional heavy metal.

After signing with Atlantic Records in 1987, Manowar reached a wider international audience with Fighting the World, before achieving their greatest commercial success with the landmark 1988 album Kings of Metal. Featuring enduring classics such as Heart of Steel, Kings of Metal and Hail and Kill, the album remains the band's best-selling release and continues to be celebrated as one of the defining records of the genre.

Never afraid to push boundaries, Manowar have earned multiple Guinness World Records, including for some of the loudest live performances ever staged and the longest heavy metal concert, lasting five hours and one minute at Bulgaria's Kavarna Rock Fest in 2008. Their ambitious 1992 album The Triumph of Steel further cemented their legendary status, highlighted by the 28-minute epic Achilles, Agony and Ecstasy in Eight Parts, inspired by Homer's Iliad. With their famous motto, "Death to False Metal," Manowar remain enduring champions of classic heavy metal and one of the genre's most influential acts.
