Autopsy – Live in Chicago
2x Vinyl 12"
Formed in San Francisco in 1987, Autopsy are widely regarded as one of the founding forces of American death metal. After releasing four influential albums for Peaceville Records before disbanding in 1995, the band returned from a 15-year hiatus with the acclaimed 2010 EP The Tomb Within. Their triumphant comeback continued with Macabre Eternal in 2011, launching a new era that has produced a series of critically acclaimed albums and EPs.
Live in Chicago, the band's first official live album, was recorded at Reggies Rock Club on 7 March 2020 and captures 66 minutes of uncompromising death metal spanning more than three decades of the band's career. Featuring fan favourites from across their catalogue alongside the brand-new track Maggots in the Mirror, the album offers both a celebration of Autopsy's legacy and a glimpse of what was to come.
Originally intended to be one of several live appearances that year, the performance ultimately became the band's only concert of 2020. Fortunately, it was professionally recorded, preserving Autopsy at their ferocious, gore-soaked best. Mixed by longtime collaborator Adam Munoz and featuring striking artwork by acclaimed artist Wes Benscoter (Slayer, Nile and Kreator), this double vinyl edition is presented in a gatefold sleeve with printed inner sleeves, making it an essential release for death metal collectors and fans alike.
