Originally released in the summer of 1995, The Silent Enigma is the second studio album from pioneering British doom metal band Anathema and a defining moment in their remarkable evolution. It marked the debut of guitarist Vincent Cavanagh as lead vocalist following the departure of Darren White, introducing a more melodic, expressive vocal style that expanded the band's musical horizons while retaining the crushing heaviness of their early sound.
