People & Love

American jazz vibraphonist Johnny Lytle released the excellent People & Love in 1972, which saw him fully explore the then-fashionable ‘soul jazz’ idiom to the fullest extent possible. Five mesmerically grooving tracks, including two Lytle originals and one by his pianist Daahoud Hadi, provided a rich trove of sources for future samplers (‘Family’ was sampled by Organized Konfusion twenty-five years later).
